INdustry Issues Tackled

The i3G banks started out with a "dirty dozen" -  a grouping of interoperability issues that were causing problems within in the industry.  The group then prioritized the top four issues based on proliferation of the problem.

The top four industry issues addressed in 2009 were:
1) 
Dealing with Duplicate File Events:
Best practices were developed for resolving large scale duplicate file presentment incidents – including a new industry event notification system
2)  Lack of industry standardization around
electronic endorsements: i3G developed
guidelines for proper use of Bank of First Deposit (BOFD) endorsement records
3)  Lack of industry adoption of
TIFF Tag standards: i3G developed
clarification on the standard approach for TIFF Tag use
4) Lack of industry consensus on MICR line requirements for imaged items
